A Bass Lake Vacation for the record books!
One of our family's most treasured annual vacations is our trip to Bass Lake where we get to cut loose and enjoy life by the water.
We rented a cabin on the lake shore where the kids played in the water while Mom and Dad got to enjoy a bit of true relaxation.
It was a very different experience in the midst of a pandemic, as we avoided the public areas of congregation, but from the kids perspective it was the same amazing place as always.
We got to enjoy boats, wave runners, inner tubes, board games, puzzles, Jenga and more!
We packed up the car to the roof and set sail for a grand adventure.
The kids stayed entertained for 5 hours with books on tape and plenty of 'I spy' games.
Although we packed our own food and prepared healthy meals all week, the kids enjoyed a few celebration cupcakes as well.
My oldest is still working on his table manners, apparently.
We voyaged along the lake perimeter each day, going a little further each time.
It makes you really appreciate the freedom of exploration after being cooped up indoors for so many months.
Our little guy must have grown up by about a year in just 7 days. He got to run around with the big kids on the lake shore and splash in the water to his hearts content.
I was able to get some great exercise rowing my kids all around the lake each day and help them enjoy the great outdoors.
My daughter has really taken to fishing, which came as a surprise since I've never spent much time at it. It's been a lot of fun supporting her interest in a hobby that is pretty foreign to me.
Oh, and we got a new dog! His name is Booster
We've come to find that we weren't the only family who decided to get a dog during this pandemic, as nearly every Labradoodle in America had already been purchased.
But as luck would have it, we were able to find one through a guardianship program and we're in love with Booster, our new 17 week old Puppy.
So that's all we've got to share this month, but we're going to continue to offer you a periodic glimse into our lives outside of Foronjy FInancial, since many of our clients enjoy knowing us as people as well as professionals.
